Teen Jobs – Tips for Interviewing
Teen Jobs- Tips for Interviewing
You have been sending out resumes like crazy and it finally happens, your phone starts ringing. You are about to enter the next phase of the job search process. There is a lot of competition for teen jobs so there are some things you will definitely want to keep in mind if you want to nail the interview. For starters, the interview starts when you pick up that phone. Believe me you are being screened and how you handle the initial phone call will determine if you get invited in for a live interview. I am actually writing an article on phone interviews (stay tuned.) Here are some tips for the live interview: –Dress for success How you present yourself is very important, if you are interviewing for a typical summer job you do not need to wear a suit, but you do want to dress up. If you are interviewing for an internship, a suit or pant suit is your best bet. –Be Cool, but not too cool.. What I mean by this is be confident and sure of yourself, try not to be nervous. You want to avoid slang terms. Do not slouch. –Ask for it You need to ask for the job, if you do not, chances are you will not get it. When you ask for the job, you are telling the interviewer that you really want it and the reality is most of your competition won’t take this crucial advice. –Ask good questions The quality of your questions will also tell the interviewer what your interest level is. Here are some good questions to ask. What kind of training is provided? What kind of new skills can I expect to learn? Is there anything else I can tell you about me? –Be on Time Interviewers hate when candidates are late and it will reflect badly on you no matter what the reason is. Keep these tips in mind and you will ace your teen job interview. Looking for teen job listings ? Click the banner below:
